Past Perfect Tense क्या होता है?

Past Perfect Tense का उपयोग तब किया जाता है जब कोई कार्य भूतकाल में किसी अन्य कार्य से पहले पूरा हो चुका था। इसे हम तब भी प्रयोग करते हैं जब दो घटनाएं अतीत में हुई हों और हमें बताना हो कि कौन-सी घटना पहले हुई।

हिंदी में ऐसे वाक्य चुका था, चुकी थी, चुके थे, गया था, देखा था, किया था जैसे शब्दों से समाप्त होते हैं

• मैं स्कूल जा चुका था 
• वह खाना खा चुकी थी 
• हमने काम पूरा कर लिया था
  

Past Perfect Tense का Structure (संरचना)

Affirmative Sentences (सकारात्मक वाक्य)

Structure: Subject + had + V³ (past participle) + object

Examples:

• I had finished my homework 
• She had gone to the market 
• They had played the game 

Negative Sentences (नकारात्मक वाक्य)

Structure: Subject + had not + V³ + object

Examples:

• I had not eaten the food 
• He had not returned home 
• We had not called them 

Interrogative Sentences (प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य)

Structure: Had + subject + V³ + object?

Examples:

• Had you met him before? 
• Had they started the meeting? 
• Had she written the letter? 

Past Perfect Tense का प्रयोग कब करें?

1. जब कोई काम अतीत में किसी दूसरे काम से पहले हुआ हो
   → The train had left before we reached the station 
2. जब किसी घटना का परिणाम किसी दूसरी घटना से जुड़ा हो
   → He had studied hard before the exam began 
3. Reported speech में भी Past Perfect का उपयोग होता है
   → He said that he had lost his wallet
